Verify Code FAQ
Short, direct answers to the questions brands and customers ask about product authentication with Verify Code.
All questions
What is a product authentication platform?
A product authentication platform is a system that lets a brand issue a unique verification code for each product unit and gives customers a fast way to confirm that the product is genuine. Verify Code issues those codes digitally and lets customers verify from a smartphone via WhatsApp or an online check.
How can customers verify whether a product is genuine?
The customer scans the QR code on the packaging with a smartphone camera or opens WhatsApp and sends the code printed on the pack. Verify Code checks the code against the brand's records and returns an authentication result in seconds.
How does WhatsApp product verification work?
Scanning the QR code opens a pre-filled WhatsApp chat that sends the one-time code to the brand's verification number. The customer receives an instant reply confirming whether the product is authentic, along with product details supplied by the brand.
Do customers need special hardware to authenticate a product?
No. Any modern smartphone camera is enough. There is no dedicated scanner, no reader hardware, and no app to install. Customers who already use WhatsApp can verify without leaving the app.
What is a one-time redeemable authentication code?
It is a unique code that becomes marked as used after its first successful verification. If the same code is scanned again later, the system flags it, which is designed to reduce copying, cloning, and code recycling by counterfeiters.
How do one-time codes help prevent code recycling?
Because each code can only be verified successfully once, a counterfeiter cannot reproduce a single valid code on many fake items. Any repeat scan of an already-redeemed code triggers a warning instead of an authentic result.
Can Verify Code scale as a brand grows?
Yes. Codes are generated and validated on cloud infrastructure, and the pricing plans are structured to grow with a brand — from small startups on the Basic plan to larger operations on Premium or Enterprise.
Can Verify Code fit into an existing supply chain?
Yes. Codes can be printed or applied during your existing packaging or labeling step. Brands can integrate Verify Code without replacing their current supply-chain workflow.
Which types of brands can use Verify Code?
Verify Code is designed for consumer product brands that are exposed to counterfeit risk — including categories such as cosmetics, personal care, nutraceuticals, electronics, apparel, food and beverage, and automotive parts. Any brand that puts a unit-level pack on a product can use it.
How does product authentication help protect brand reputation?
Counterfeits erode trust because customers who unknowingly buy fakes often blame the original brand. A visible, easy verification step reassures customers, gives them proof of authenticity, and reduces the reach of counterfeits.
Is WhatsApp verification available globally?
Yes. Verify Code's WhatsApp verification works in every market where WhatsApp is available, using standard smartphone functionality. Customers do not need to be in a specific country to verify a product.
