A one-time redeemable code is a unique authentication code that returns a positive verification result only on its first successful check. After that, the same code is flagged as already used.
Why 'one-time' matters
Counterfeiters often copy a single legitimate code and reprint it on many fake units. If the code can be verified successfully every time, every counterfeit passes. One-time redemption changes the state of the code on the verification server after first use, so a reused code returns a warning.
